My common tests started this week, Tuesday and it will continue again next week after the five-day National Day break. Ain't that pathetic? In the end, we still have to study during the holidays. NO FUN. AT ALL. Study, study and more studying. This is getting onto my nerves! I HATE TESTS and EXAMS! I had my English and Geography tests on Tuesday, 3rd August. I think the English paper was super difficult. It was more like 'phrase' questions and 'you thinking out-of-the-box' instead of comprehension. And guess who set the paper? The one and only Ms Yee, whom have commented on my Mid-Year English composition paper saying that I use too many dialogues, composition is not script-writing. Hello? So that means I can be the next Shakespeare is it? AWESOME! ~ So not! Then, the Geography paper was OK to me I guess because I have studied very hard, burnt the midnight oil just to strive at least a 'B3'. I sat for my Maths test on Wednesday, 4th of August. Most of the questions are manageable except for two particular questions which I have left out. I have no clue on how to solve the factorisation question and the Pythagoras' Theorem.
I received my Design & Technology test paper on Monday and guess what have I scored? 28/40=70%, A2! It was so unbelievable. I usually only pass for my D&T but I scored an 'A' for the first time in my life! I received my Higher Malay results too but it was more depressing. I FAILED. Yeap, you heard that. FAILED. Everyone scored badly too so I guess we can blame it on the difficulty of the paper. Fortunately, we will be having another two tests soon so I have got to strive well for these two so I get good grades for my Holistic Report!
I spent a great time with my besties: Rasinah, Li Tong and Joreen. I took pictures with Rasinah, Li Tong and Kathy in the toilet, of all places in school. I tweeted with Joreen a lot of times.
On Thursday, Rasinah, Li Tong and I went to order Mee Soto from the Malay stall and this was how the epic situation occur. Rasinah put like three big tablespoons of red-hot chilli and Li Tong mistaken and put more tablespoons of chilli than Rasinah! I tried Li Tong's soup and it tasted totally spicy. It makes your tongue dance. Like really. I am not kidding. Li Tong didn't want to waste her money so she ate the noodles and drank her water at the same time. She even have to ask Rasinah, Kathy and I to buy her a cup of Milo and a small carton of Soya Milk! By the time she finished eating, her lips were bulging and red with searing heat. Rasinah was still OK but she had stomach ache for a while. That was just totally uncool and guess what? Rasinah said that she wanted to put more chilli the next time she orders the noodles! OMG! She is really a Chilli Queen!
We had an interesting English lesson on that day too. Since our English test was over, Mdm Sng decided to ask us to write a poem about Singapore using only some given words written on the board. I have written a poem about Singapore's National Flag.
Here's the poem: (An Ode to Singapore's National Flag)
Flying in the sky
Red with passion
White stars and a crescent moon
Smiling at us
Like a sacred picture
I guess that's all that's interesting for this week. Don't worry. I will blog about the National Day celebration in school, Friday 6th August, tomorrow.
