Pangkor Island Trip! (Friday, June 25, 2010 / 3:04 AM)

Sorry for the dead, un-updated blog here. I have been real busy. Just came back from a 3 days 2 nights Student Councilor Leadership Camp on Thursday. What can I say? It was fantabulous although I didn't know many unfamiliar faces of people, I still managed to make some good, new friends!
OK, today, I shall talk about my Pulau Pangkor Trip.
My relatives: Grandma, Katelyn's parents (also known as my Kai-Ma/God-Mother and Uncle Kevin) and my family drove down to the Jetty at somewhere in Perak on the 12th of June after my parents drove down from Singapore to KL the day before. It took us like 3 hours + to reach the Jetty. Guess what time we woke up?
WE WOKE UP AT 5A.M.! MY GOSH! We only left KL at 6.30a.m. Katelyn, my Grandma and I sat on Aunty Charis's and Aunty Sherina's (both are my Grandma's best buddies) car while my parents sat on Katelyn's parents' car.
Kai-Ma and my Grandma packed so much food for us for the journey that we were so bloated from all the varieties of good junk food!
Since Aunty Charis drove her car, the rest of us spent most of our time chatting, sleeping and just looking at the wonderful view outside the car window. Katelyn and I read some magazines that I have brought and listened to some rockin' music on my iPod Touch.
We took the earliest ferry to Pulau Pangkor which was at 10.30a.m. and arrived there half an hour later. Then, we waited for the hotel, Pangkor Island Beach Resort, bus to pick us up.
We were greeted with the hotel's mascot, which was a panda of all animals (where on Earth can you find a panda in Pulau Pangkor or Malaysia? LOL!) , and several other people which were dressed like the people from Hawaii, serving us glasses fruit punch. Like come on, it's a beach resort right? We deserve that kind of attention and greeting.
Katelyn and I could perhaps be the most excited girls that day. We changed into our swim suits immediately after we got the keys to our room, ignoring the gloomy weather outside. Since we were staying in a twin bedroom, Katelyn, my Grandma and I sleep in a room while the other room is occupied by Aunty Charis and Aunty Sherina.
If you were to compare with the beaches in Bali, the ones in Malaysia could not beat them. Bali is still the BEST SO FAR! Nonetheless, Katelyn and I built sandcastle that day barely for fifteen minutes until it started raining. So disappointing!
So, all of us went to shower before going out to town which was so small and undeveloped, worse than Penang! The journey was kinda dizzy because we had to go up the winding mountainous slope. Katelyn and I listened to Baby by Justin Bieber and Rock That Body by The Black Eyed Peas many times just to keep ourselves singing so as to prevent ourselves from puking. LMAO.
We bought many satay fish because it's cheap and good, Pulau Pangkor is otherwise famous for their fresh anchovies and satay fish. Then, we went for dinner at a famous restaurant.
WOW! The foods were just delicious! Seriously! I ate like two bowls of rice just because of the yummy food.
Since it was still early after our dinner, we went back to the hotel to feed the hornbills and take some lovely photographs with them. There were so many of them!
The rest of the day was spent watching Disney Channel, playing Katelyn's PSP, chatting and just slacking.
On the 13th of June early in the morning, we woke up for a buffet breakfast in the hotel before going to the beach and swimming pool to spend the day. Kai-Ma, Aunty Charis, Aunty Sherina, Katelyn and I dug for siputs so hard that we harvested many of them though some of them were samll so we let them off back into the sea. I was practically a bit tanned due to the hot-scorching sun. After we dug no more, Katelyn and I built sandcastles again and played with the waves with our Grandma. The waves were so high tide and fun to play with! We were often swept off our feet! It just reminds me of a theme park ride but this is natural!
We washed up, took a nap (while my parents, the two aunties and my Kai-Ma played some card games) and went to town again and ate at the same restaurant. Come on. The town was so small. There's nothing much there. Haizzz. I don't mind eating in that same restaurant though. We just ordered different food.
Katelyn and I went back to watch several movies on Disney Channel before sleeping.
We spent the last day digging for the last batch of siputs again. I took many final pictures of the island and the hotel.
I had a great time there with everyone. I hope there will be more family outings like this in many months to come.
P.S. Will blog about the rest of my Malaysia Trip, Student Councilor Leadership Camp and The Karate Kid Movie Reviews soon. Please hold on!
