Teenagers (Sunday, May 9, 2010 / 12:06 PM)

yay! Let's have some celebration here! This is my 100th post for this blog of mine! Happy 100th post bloggie! LOL. I know... I am insane and random, like duh-uh. That's my expertise. I am very professional in this.

OK. I have been thinking and pondering about the topic mentioned above for quite some time now. Teenagers have changed over the years. Seriously. If you don't understand, ask your parents of their childhood days and you will understand. If not, you are an alien from outer space!

OK. Let's start, shall we? On an exploration on modern day teenagers.

During our parents' time, they do not have the privilege of having high-tech gadgets like MP3s or even a cellphone! They can only afford to buy for their own when they start working! What about now? You name it, we have it! Ranging from iPods, lap-tops to the newest trend everyone's talking about, iPad! Even if our parents might have those gadgets during their time, it was not as advanced as today's modern society. My Mom told me she could only buy a 'Walkman', in case you don't know, it's a bulky and kinda big (if you compare with the newest iPod Shuffle) portable audio cassette. Although some kids in the world still live in poverty, most of us living in First World Countries are able to get all the gadgets we want. My parents' parents would not even buy any gadgets for them because they think it was expensive and a waste of time!

Therefore, they spent most of their time playing with their friends! Furthermore, they don't have to study much as education that time was not that difficult yet. Now? Most of us spend our time on computers and TVs! Some of us don't even have time to play with our friends during weekdays, except in school, because we spend our time mostly on our homework and studies! Sad thing. I would prefer to have last time's lifestyle except we should add some gadgets into our lives! I bet we won't have any stress and we will stay fit and healthy by playing some sports with our friends!

Teenagers nowadays also have crushes earlier. Well, can you imagine my cousin, who is only eight years old this year, having a crush on Zac Efron? LOL! OK. She may not be a teenager yet but she is only a kid! A KID! My goodness. So, the problem lies here. Teenagers have puppy loves and gets into a relationship too early. No offence to those in a relationship out there! This is just my opinion. There's absolutely no right or wrong. ROFL. I think having a crush is OK, I crushed on many people and celebrities before. It's normal but it's just so early. I think my parents don't have any crushes during their childhood days. Unless they are keeping it from me. Hmmm. Haha though I doubt so. I can't imagine if I were to share my crushes with my parents! OMGee. I only confide those with my besties. I just feel uncomfortable. They will be like, "Rachel, you are only fifteen. How can you have a crush on somebody?" and blah blah blah...

These are the things that I realised among teenagers. From the 19th century till now. Haha. There could be more but my brains currently can't rack anymore ideas. My sincere apologies. Teeheee.
