It's Just me and Kathy... Against all The Odds! (Sunday, May 16, 2010 / 9:38 PM)

It was supposed to be us: Li Tong, Rasinah and I, going out together on Sunday, which is today. Ended up, Rasinah's parents only allowed her to go out on a Monday with Kathy, Kylie and Li Tong as they think that it is unsafe of her to shop along Orchard Road on Sunday as that is usually the day when all the immigrant workers are out to shop, which is dangerous... =_= Li Tong's case was a last minute one. She got a very bad sore throat all of a sudden. Therefore, she cancelled today's outing but she is going for tomorrow's. I was like totally depressed at first. Then, I called Kathy and Kylie, asking if they wanna go out with me. At first, Kathy cannot as her parents only allowed her to go out either today or tomorrow's outing, but fortunately, KATHY CHOSE TODAY TO FOLLOW ME! THANK YOU KATHY! LOVE YOU! As a close friend of course! Not being horny here. Kylie cannot as it was her family day and she has tuition today.
Kathy and I met at City Hall MRT Station. Since we always use cars to go to Orchard Road, there's no surprise that we spent like fifteen minutes to find the right line to Somerset MRT Station. LOL. We were like unsure of the lines, always going to the wrong line. There was once that we thought we have gotten to the correct line but after a few stops on the MRT, we realised that we were going towards the Joo Koon Line instead. LMAO! We immediately alighted at the next stop and took the other MRT back to Raffles Place MRT and boarded the correct one. Finally! At long last!
We went to Somerset to shop for my headphones. I have been eye-ing on this super cute headphones for quite a long time. Furthermore, it is pink and black, which suits my iPod Touch! Kathy and I walked to the shop, Urban Write, at Orchard Central. I almost wanted to lay my hands on the headphones when Kathy's sudden temptation left me leaving the headphones untouched. She asked me, "Hey Rachel, why don't we go to HMV? I know there are lots of other nice designs and choices of headphones." I was so gullible then. I forgotten to ask her if the headphones were expensive because I know her style, her style is high-class, unlike me. When we walked all the way to 313 @ Somerset again, my mouth was practically on the floor after seeing the price of a typical headphone. It was so BOOMZ! So expensive! OK, I do admit that the design of the headphones are cute but... It costs at about $100+! OMG!
Therefore, we walked back to Orchard Central just to get back the same headphone that I wanted. Since we were too lazy to take the long way up through the escalator, we used the lift instead. The lift was super scary. It was transparent, made out of tempered glass. Imagine yourself in a capsule (a capsule that can break), being hauled up in speed motion without stopping, the feeling like being in a bugee jumping ride. Ain't that terrifying? That's what Kathy and I experienced. That feeling just left us dizzy after getting out from the lift! Furthermore, we only get out from the lift at the fifth floor! So dizzy.
I absolutely LOVE MY HEADPHONES! LOVE THE COLOUR AND IT'S LIMITED EDITION! Teheee. Since Kathy wasted all our time, she offered to be my assistant by holding onto my new headphones to the cashier for me to pay. LOL. Thanks for your assistance Kathy but sorry I don't have any tips for you! hahaha.
Since we were already there, we decided to walk around and do some camwhoring of ourselves there. We took some really CO_OL pictures! Hehehehe! Love all the pictures we have taken today. There was this shop that we have seen when we were taking the lift while going up to Urban Write that looked so exclusive. We thought it was a great place for some more camwhoring so we searched high and low for the place. Going to each level and find but to no avail until we almost left the place... We found out that it was an expensive jewelery shop named 'Cupid'. Ya, super expensive. So, ended up, we walked towards 313 @ Somerset to take the MRT to Orchard. Before we went, we stopped by in this very cute and eye-satisfying shop where it sells all types of desserts! Kathy and I ordered each different kinds of cake and shared them. We went to window-shop at Diva and went off to take the MRT.
We waited for like five minutes? and by the time the MRT came, it was so packed.
We walked to Kinokuniya straightaway, just to grab Kathy and my magazines. I saw this book that I have been waiting for a long time. It is The Kan Chronicles The Red Pyramid written by the same author that have written all the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series, Rick Riordan. I remembered that I have the a $20 discount voucher for Borders. The book costs $20+. So I wanted to use the card and only need to pay a few cents. Kathy and I walked to Wheelock Place. The other end of Orchard Road and were dismayed that we can't find the book. We searched through every corner after searching the information computer (it said there are two stocks in stores). Finally, we asked the Information Counter and they said the stocks are not here yet. I was like 'What the heck? So long and yet they still don't have it. Even Kinokuniya has it already and there are so MANY MORE STOCKS than you guys!'
Kathy and I were so tired from all those walking and yet we had to rush back to Takashimaya again just to grab my book from Kinokuniya. From the end to the beginning of Orchard Road! UGH! Anyways, we enjoyed every single moment by laughing, planning what to do after that and telling jokes which lifted my spirits up.
Kathy liked this book named I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd have to Kill You by Ally Carter. This book has been opted to become a Walt Disney movie! So, she bought that book while I bought mine.
Since Kathy wanted to go to Sephora to search for a lip-gloss, I followed her to the one at Takashimaya. She cannot find it as she thinks that the one we went to was super small compared to the one at ION Orchard. Hence, we went to ION Orchard to kill time there. We went to do some window-shopping and shopped at Art Box where Kathy bought a unique 'microphone' pen. Art Box has so many adorable stuff! All the stuff are from Korea! Gorgeous!
We were getting really dehydrated and hungry so instead of going to Sephora straightaway, we went off to hunt for food downstairs at the basement Food Hall and bought some scrumptious street food and refreshing drink called Yakult Green Tea? Ya.
After that, we browsed through the stuff at the super big or should I say mega Sephora to find the lip gloss Kathy's searching for. We still couldn't find it so we asked for assistance and she said that Changi Airport only sells it! ROFL. Of all the make-up stores in Singapore, why must this Victoria's Secret's lip gloss be only sold in the airport? LMAO! This is totally ironic!
Before Kathy went to take the MRT back to Kallang, we took our last few camwhores.
I really had a fabulous and glamorous time with Kathy today although I do admit that it would be more awesome if the rest of my besties were with us. Nonetheless, I really love the company that I had with Kathy. THANKS FOR BEING SUCH AN ENTERTAINING SHOPPING PARTNER! :D
