Teachers' Day Celebration this year was awesome and unique! Fantabulous! Reason? Well, since it is my first year in my new secondary school, I experience a whole new adventure of celebrating Teachers' Day. Here are the events that GMSS has to offer on that day, 31st September, Monday, a day before Teachers' Day and my Mom's birthday.
7.20-7.35a.m.
Sang the National Anthem. Majulah Singapura...
7.35-8.00a.m.
Singspiration. Praising the Lord for having such wonderful and caring teachers. Lalala. One way is my favourite Christian song man!
8.00-9.30a.m.
Performances such as Drama (My favourite part of the show! So funny!!!), some singing and prayers... We had a first performance by our own GMSS school 'band'. They sang I'm Yours by Jason Mraz and a Chinese song which I am not so sure of the title... Then we had our Drama! yeah!!! The show was hilarious.
The show is about the different experiences each teacher encounter in school. The first segment consists of assembly, Science and Maths lessons. Some students were doing 'goody good stuffs', as usual, while some were doing the weirdo and bad stuffs like not wearing P.E. clothes for P.E. and using their cell phones during Maths lessons. Those are the common things that happen in schools. Before the other sections, there is this part that it shows on the screen saying 'Loading' before they close the curtain and change the scene. I think this is pretty creative. I especially like the Science and English segments because I think they are the two funniest parts in the play. The Science teacher acted like a gay as he has pink hair and acted like a sissy. No offence! LOL! His class was sleeping during his lessson time and he caught them. He was like shouting at them and they were still sound asleep. I was like what? If that happens in real life, we'll get a scolding for sure! Then, he too was frustrated and he threw his pink wig at them before they could wake up. ROFL! The English teacher was the typical Ah Beng type. The way he speaks his English reminds me of Singlish and it is so improper!
The last segments were English and the teachers' council or meeting. Every teacher was like complaining about their students and the students themselves were outside the room listening. Then, there is this ridiculous part when they all fall down because the door was roughly pushed open and all the teachers were angry and started screaming and scolding them... Blablabla. Cool and it is entertaining.
Next, we have another school 'band' singing Collide by Howie Day and You & Me by Life House. I find the songs meaningful and it is suitable for this Teachers' Day.
9.30-10.15a.m.
Sports events. Spent my time loitering around, finding teachers to give them their presents, chit-chatting and just listening to music.
10.15-10.45a.m.
Announcements and craps... Students won in the Teachers' Day Games. Prayers by Ms Ho, principal. Dismissed. Bye peeps!
10.45-11.35a.m.
Took MRT and did some 'exercise' on walking from Paya Lebar MRT station towards Haig Girls'. Imagine how far is that? It takes us approximately 45mins! But we were happy that we reached there at long last...
11.35-3p.m.
Met Jaeni and Xiu Ping first before meeting the other early birds from my ex-class, 6 Grace, such as Sara, Maryam, Aliyah, Sarah, Wynne, Teri, Anna and Angeline. The others came after 1p.m. and they are Yi Ting, Rita, Pepita, Nicole, Celine, Kai Yin, Simone and Michaela. We spent our times just chit-chatting about our secondary school life and telling lame jokes. Then, since our ex-form teacher, Ms Ang or should I say 'Mrs Chia', is married, she told us all about it. From the proposal to the marriage and so on and so forth....
Overall, I think I find this year's celabration a memorable one. I hope that I will have more on these in the future. But for now... Cheers for GMSS and HGS peeps!
